This video shows you how to update the databases for the G1000 emulator software. The databases contain all the geographical and aviation data for the multi-function display (MFD) module. The emulator software downloaded from the Simgneering website doesn’t contain any database data so you’ll need to run the database update before using the MFD module.

The MFD software now includes the WX-500 Stormscope module. The MFD can display lightning strike data on both the main map page and on the stormscope page. Real-world, real-time lightning strike data is used to generate the displays.
